Course = permanent shell (URL). Cohort = one run (e.g. Fall 2026). Multiple cohorts can be active at once for the same course. Course admins manage every cohort under a course (explicit appointment — not the same as TA role). Need a new course or Institute program? Use Courses & programs (Academy admin).
Each class has its own roster. People on a list are on the roster (not “invited” by email — you email them separately). Pick a row to open that course’s list.
Academy admins only: appoint someone who can manage all cohorts for this course. Use their sign-in email (password or magic link).
This course has no cohort yet. Create Fall 2026 first, then paste the class list.
Institutional class lists often have student ID + name, not email (e.g. UH PeopleSoft). Paste as-is. Add each student’s email later (or they claim the course code after they sign in). UH is one Academy institution — IDs are stored as institution ID, not “UH-only” fields.
Class list: Institution ID + Last,First. Duplicates skipped. Max 200. Emails are optional until you attach them.
Temp password is a fallback for one stuck student, not the class-wide setup. First-time students create their own password on sign-in with roster email + course code. If you must issue a temp password, share it 1:1. They should then change it at /auth/update-password.html.
Put the code on the syllabus / Teams gateway for that cohort.
